Fantastic, inventive dishes, usually from locally sourced produce, make for culinary heaven at these characterful hotels and pubs-with-rooms
“The restaurant, with a strong farm-to-fork ethos, specialises in modern British cuisine with the food-miles kept to a minimum. Most meat comes from the estate’s farm and there’s a natty map on the menu showing all its suppliers within a three-mile radius, and a list of those within 25 miles.” (Dixe Wills)

The Clive Arms` chef, Luke Wignall on the perfect meal and a Ludlow lifestyle
“The LGL team recently had a beautiful and memorable meal at the recently opened Clive Arms just off the A49, minutes west of Ludlow town centre. Formerly called The Clive Restaurant with Rooms, we were really charmed by the first rate food and its new decor.” (Claire H.)

Farm to Fork Dining at its Best: The Clive Arms
“This is local food at its finest, with most ingredients sourced within three miles. The menus feature food from the estate’s own farms and Walled Garden as well as other local producers. Not only does the beef, lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork come directly from the estate, but also the milk used to make butter and ice cream, and honey is from the collection of over 100 hives on the land surrounding the inn.”

Great British Boltholes: Indulge in a farm-to-fork fantasy at The Clive Arms in Shropshire.
“It’s a genuine farm-to-fork experience eating at The Clive Arms, the estate’s Georgian coaching inn. My husband Nick and I were ensconced in the new Plymouth suite, with a huge bed, comfy chair, free-standing bath and Lewis & Wood wallpaper. ” (Jennifer Cox)

The cool hotel guide: Clive Arms, Bromfield, Shropshire
“Very smart. The three new rooms in the main house (two slightly larger suites and a double) are particularly lovely, with floral wallpapers and hand-made blankets from Hay-on-Wye and Roberts radios.” (Ben Clatworthy)

“We went to The Clive Arms for 1 night…. it was absolutely beautiful, we stayed in one of the bigger rooms and it was very impressive !! “I was recommended to stay here by a colleague and I wasn’t disappointed. After travelling on one of the hottest days of the year so far I was made to feel welcome, shown to my room which was stunning and the sat down to a very tasty meal and glass of wine in the restaurant. Service was quick.
The staff were friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay again.” (F1125KWnicolec)

“Passing through and decided to pull over for food as there was plenty of car parking spaces and other pubs in Ludlow were rammed/stopped serving food at 3pm. Nice looking place, food was excellent (fish&chips and burger) and enjoyed a drink in the sunshine.” (Jack B)

“I have eaten here three times in the last four months, always at lunch time and always in the bar area because I had my dog with me. I have no idea if the fine dining restaurant is any good and I have only ever ordered a sirloin steak and all I can say is that on all three occasions I was presented with a wonderful, juicy perfectly cooked steak. A perfect combination of well sourced meat cooked exactly as I had asked for it to be cooked.” (GildaSpinone)

“This was one of the best ravioli’s I’ve eaten, we both agreed how delicious it was, beautiful crab and scallop coming through the not over spiced tomato fondue.” (Bryan H)
